| Moonlight Basin serves as a vital link in a vast wilderness chain by connecting two major parts of the 260,000-acre Lee Metcalf Wilderness. These, in turn, are surrounded by 3 million acres of national forest, and ultimately joined with the 20-million-acre Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. And yet Moonlight Basin’s connection to the wilderness is not just physical. It’s philosophical. Preserving the things that make Moonlight Basin special is in our DNA.
